Taylor Hampton Solicitors: Jane Katyar
Jane Katyar trained as a professional musician at Dartington Hall in Devon before reading law at University College London from 1982 until 1985 when she graduated.
She trained to be a solicitor under John Cornwell, one of the UK’s leading matrimonial lawyers and founder of the Solicitors’ Family Law Association, (now Resolution), and qualified in 1989.
Since then Jane has specialised in family law. She was a partner at Dawson Cornwell & Co from 1994 until 1997 when she moved to Howard Kennedy, the leading West End firm. In 2003 she was appointed head of the family and matrimonial department at Philip Ross. She joined Taylor Hampton as the matrimonial and family specialist in December 2007.
Jane has a particular interest and expertise in resolving financial disputes between married and unmarried couples. She is also a specialist in dealing with disputes between couples over arrangements for their children. She believes that it is the role of the family lawyer to find solutions to problems that face separating couples.
Jane is married to a barrister. They have two children and live in central London.
She is interested in her family, art, books and film.
