News: Former Chief Executive of Gold Group wins damages and an injunction
against Ann Summers boss Jacqueline Gold
July 2009
Jacqueline Gold, Chief Executive of Ann Summers and publisher
Random House have agreed to pay substantial damages and costs in settlement
of the libel and breach of contract action brought against them by former
Divisional Chief Executive of Gold Group, Michael Vaughan, after the
publication of her book 'A Woman's Courage' in 2007’. It followed
a two year battle which also resulted in the removal of the offending
edition from sale and undertakings being given not to repeat the allegations.
Mr Vaughan, who was represented by Taylor Hampton Solicitors LLP throughout the action, said “I am pleased to have been totally vindicated by the recent settlement and can now put the matter behind me”. ENDS
